Grasshoppers & crickets
The newest volume in the prestiguous New Naturalist series treats the Orthoptera. The 532-page book contains an extensive introduction to the grasshoppers and crickets, focussing mainly on tunctional morphology, life history and evolutionary aspects of mating systems. A large part of the book treats the British species. Every species is described in 3-4 pages, treating the life history, distribution, ecology and conservation. The book is well-illustrated, with a distribution map of Great-Britain and several photos.
