New records of Pholidoptera transsylvanica at its northern border

A team of Slovakian researchers has surveyed new localities of Pholidoptera transsylvanica at its northern border in Slovakia and Poland. The number of sites in Slovakia has increased from 5 in 1996 to 56 in 2017. In July 2017 it was discovered for the first time in Poland. This study has considerably increased the knowledge on this species which is one of the ten Orthoptera species on the Habitats Directive of the EU.
